Knotted Checkers

Checkers! I found a pattern for checkers somewhere, but according to that it was not possible to have them just black and white, so I made up my own.

The left three are made with medium thickness knitting/crocheting yarn, the last from filet yarn - I made the last two to (nearly) the same pattern, number of threads and length to have a comparison between the two yarns.

all lengths without braids

* First: 2,5 cm (1 in) wide, 19,5 cm (8 3/4 in) long, 18 threads, ca. 960 double knots.
* Second: 2,2 cm (13/16 in) wide, 15,5 cm (ca 6 in) long, 16 threads, ca. 675 double knots
* Third: 1,8 cm (6/8 in) wide, 12,5 cm (ca 4 7/8 in) long, 14 threads, ca 475 double knots
* Fourth: 1,2 cm (1/2 in) wide, 12,5 cm (ca 4 7/8 in) long, 14 threads, ca. 680 double knots
